The Hawthorne Police Department Mission Statement

We the employees of the Hawthorne Police Department are here to serve all people within our jurisdiction with respect, fairness and sensitivity. Our commitment is to the prevention of crime and to the protection of life and property; the preservation of peace, order and safety; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; and to the safeguarding of constitutional guarantees.

To fulfill our mission, the Hawthorne Police Department is dedicated to providing its employees with quality training and leadership.

Accreditation

The Hawthorne Police Department has received accreditation from the new jersey state association of chiefs of police. This accreditation acknowledges the Department's implementation of policies and procedures that are conceptually sound and operationally effective, meeting 112 standards for professional law enforcement operations.
