Junior Police Academy


The Hawthorne Police Department is continuing its Community Policing program in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Hawthorne, the Hawthorne Board of Education and the Hawthorne Municipal Alliance Committee.

The Junior Police Academy is open to Hawthorne residents, Hawthorne school attendees (public and private) and the Boys and Girls Club of Hawthorne members who are attending grades seven and eight. The course is free and is designed to introduce the students to the various functions of law enforcement. Applications are due March 21, 2022. The first class begins on March 22, 2022 at 7 pm in the cafeteria of Lincoln Middle School. The Junior Police Academy will be meeting a total of three times at various locations (please see application for dates and times).


Applications are available at Hawthorne Police Headquarters and the Boys and Girls Club of Hawthorne. Applications are to be returned to Hawthorne Police Headquarters or the Boys and Girls Club of Hawthorne by March 21, 2022.
