The Hawthorne Auxiliary Police have been serving the community for over 50 years.  The members are volunteers from out community who have attended a special police academy course to learn various police procedures, functions and policies.  They are a support group to the Police Department – helping at natural disasters, fires, parades, court security, and special events, making themselves available at all times of day or night when needed. 

Volunteers must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, with a high school diploma and a valid New Jersey Driver's license.
