Immunization Clinic - The Free Immunization Program provides free vaccines to Hawthorne's school-aged children in need of immunizations who qualify.
SMAC Screening – The SMAC Blood Screening is offered Sept.26, 2007. This screening will check such factors as blood count, blood sugars, thyroid test, cholesterol, high and low density lipids. Advance registrations may be made at the Health Department Office in the Municipal Building. A fee of approximately $20.00 is payable in advance. SMAC Screening will take place in the Municipal Courtroom from 7am to 9am.
Hypertension Clinic - 3rd Tuesday of the month. 10:00am - noon. Open to all residents, no appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome at other times as long as the resident calls in advance. A health history is obtained during the visit, patient education and referrals are provided as needed.
Flu Clinic - Hawthorne residents age 65 and older and those who are at high or moderate risk due to a chronic condition are eligible to receive the free flu vaccine. Senior Citizens age 65 and older must submit their Medicare numbers upon registration. Flu shots will be administered in November.
Pneumonia Clinic - November by appointment. Due to a limited supply of vaccine, pre-registration is required. A fee of $10 will be charged for residents under the age of 65. Senior Citizens age 65 and older must submit their Medicare numbers upon registration and are eligible to receive the Pneumonia Vaccine free of charge.
Rabies Clinic – Rabies vaccinations will be given on May 13th, 2008 between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the Hawthorne Police Department garage to the rear of the Municipal Building.
