Membership to the pool is open to Hawthorne and North Haledon residents only.
Prior year members will have application forms and pool rules mailed to them by the second week of May, 2011. Prior year members will be able to register early by mail by downloading forms from this website or anytime after receiving their membership packet.
New members may apply in person using the application form available on this site. Walk-in registration may be done on either May 24, June 6 or June 20, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, in the Municipal Building at 445 Lafayette Avenue, or at the pool itself at any time the pool is open. Prospective members must bring proof of residency for each individual as described below, along with the application and fee. A mailed-in application must include the fee (check or money order only; no cash) and copy of the proof of residency. Everyone is strongly encouraged to read and become familiar with the pool rules prior to the start of the season.

PROOF OF RESIDENCY
Season membership is available to Hawthorne and North Haledon Residents ONLY.
In order to purchase season membership to the pool, you must complete the Application Form. The form will be available at Borough Hall in the Administrator's Office, DPW Office, and on the Borough's website. In addition, there will be an early application direct mailing to last year's membership list.
If you are a HOMEOWNER, enter the length of time at your address and your block and lot number where indicated on the application form. No other documentation of residency for family members will be necessary. However, the pool management reserves the right to require additional proof of residency for any member of a household listed as living at a given Hawthorne/North Haledon address.
If you are a TENANT, enter the length of time at your address and contact information for your landlord where indicated on the application form. In addition, new members will be required to substantiate residency for each family member listed on the application. Acceptable forms of proof of residency are as follows:
ADULTS (AGE 18+) - one of the following:
Current picture Driver's License with correct Hawthorne/North Haledon address or official DMV change of address sticker.
Copy of current lease or rental agreement or letter of affidavit from landlord (homeowner).
Current (within past two months) utility company (PSE&G, cable/satellite, telephone etc.) or credit card bills or bank statements with your name and address printed on the bill/statement.
MINORS (AGES 3-17) - one of the following:
Current lease or rental agreement with number of adults and children listed or an affidavit of residence from the landlord.
Student ID card or most recent report card from any Hawthorne/North Haledon school or other official document listing child's name and Hawthorne/North Haledon address.
HAWTHORNE/NORTH HALEDON RESIDENT DAY PASSES AND NON RESIDENT GUEST PASSES

Day passes are available for purchase by Hawthorne/North Haledon residents only. In order to purchase a one day pass, residents will be required to show proof of residency (see above) each time they purchase a one day pass.

Hawthorne/North Haledon residents who purchase a day pass or any season member badge holder may purchase up to two (non-resident) guest passes for use on that day.

Residents purchasing guest passes must accompany and stay with their guests while in the pool enclosure.

Residents assume all responsibility for their guests' behavior and adherence to the rules while in the pool complex.

Day and guest passes are not refundable for cash. In the event that the pool must close for an emergency situation or health issue, a voucher will be issued to be used for a future visit. DAY AND GUEST PASSES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED FOR ANY TYPE OF WEATHER RELATED EVENT.

Special requests by season members for additional day/guest passes for reasons such as out of town visiting family members, babysitting grandchildren etc. or group events such as birthday parties must be made directly to the manager of the pool. The manager reserves the right to grant or deny special permission to use the pool enclosure in accordance with the needs and comfort of the season members.

Requests for any type of special arrangements must be made at least 1 week in advance in order to be considered by the management.
