The Borough of Hawthorne is celebrating its commitment to reducing waste by sponsoring the Great American Garage Sale on Saturday, May 31^st   from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Clean out your closets and empty your attic!  Promote the idea of reuse, conserve landfill space, and avoid wasting valuable resources by holding a garage sale!   

You provide the "garage". You keep the cash. We provide FREE ADVERTISING for your sale in local newspapers and with posters and signs throughout town. 

Registration will be held from May 1 through the 12^th in the Administration Office in the Municipal Building located at 445 Lafayette Avenue. Residents and community groups wishing to participate by holding individual sales at their homes or on private property are invited to pick up a registration packet. The packet includes a  Welcome letter, a Registration Form, "Tips for a Successful Garage Sale", balloons to mark the sale location and a list of reuse agencies willing to accept donations. 

Registered sales will have their locations listed in a directory.  The directory will be available on this website, at the municipal building, the library and local coffee shops on the day of the sale. (Late registrants may not be included in this list)
