The Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the community. Our duties include the maintenance of roads, sewers, parks, water treatment and distribution, stormwater, recycling and garbage.
The Road Dept. maintains 54-miles of roadway, duties include sweeping, plowing, salting, leaf collection, cleaning catch basins, pothole patching and street signs. The Road Dept. also maintains all recreation fields and keeps the recycling center functioning.
The Sewer Dept. maintains (4) pumping stations along with all the main lines and force mains.
The Water Dept. maintains and operates (21) wells, (4) storage tanks and (4) pumping stations as well as all the water pipes.
The DPW also oversees the roadside collection of garbage, recycling and vegetative waste as well as maintaining all Borough buildings and facilities.
